Emmarae lived in rural Saskatchewan in her early childhood years and moved to Saskatoon when she was 5 years old. As the youngest of six kids, she was no stranger to competition, which easily transitioned her to the world of sport. Though she played multiple school sports, competitive soccer dominated most of her elementary and high school years.
After graduating, she started tackle football with the Saskatoon Valkyries winning 2 national titles as the WWCFL champions, and she was named Defensive MVP in 2017 and 2019. In her second year of university, she started throwing for the Huskies Track and Field team, competing in both shot put and weight throw. She competed at the Canada Summer Games for hammer throw in 2017 and contributed to the three-peat in CanWest gold medals for the Womenβs team. She also competed at USPORTS nationals in her final year going on to be named an Academic All-Canadian.
Emmarae started lifting with the Ignite family in 2015. The sport-specific programming and experienced and knowledgeable trainers have helped her achieve levels of success in football she did not know were possible. Most recently, Emmarae was recruited by the Saskatoon Hilltops, making her the first woman to be playing in the Canadian Junior Football league!
Emmarae graduated from the College of Kinesiology with a Major in Exercise and Sport Studies. Since then, she has gravitated toward the world of Strength and Conditioning. It was a gamechanger for her sports career in terms of injury prevention and overall health, and she hopes to bring that same positive change for other athletes and clients! Emmarae loves meeting people and making connections. She is passionate about helping people reach their wellness and fitness goals making her a perfect fit at Ignite!
